Mindfulness is likely a word you have heard thrown around a lot. It’s grown in popularity over the past few years, especially as mental health has become more prominent since Covid. But unlike the latest fashion trend or juicing diet, mindfulness is not a fad; it is absolutely worthy of your time.
Mindfulness is, in my opinion, the tool that underpins all personal development. Without it you’ll continue to run on autopilot and never really fully taking control of your life.

So what exactly is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the conscious practice of observing your thoughts, actions and behaviours. It’s about focusing your attention on the present moment, without judgement.
It gives you a chance to step back and observe yourself and any given situation. We can not necessarily control the thoughts that come into our minds, but what we can control is the attention we give them and the actions we take as a consequence. Instead of letting the spotlight of your attention flail around, you will gain the ability to consciously choose where to redirect it so you can purposefully pay attention to specific aspects of your experience and choose carefully how you respond.
In an nutshell, mindfulness gives you back control. With the skill of observing your thoughts, you are able to begin changing them. In order to make meaningful changes in your life, you need to break the habit of your current thoughts and begin thinking and acting like the person you want to be - the person living that life you dream of.
How do I do it?
The practice of mindfulness can feel daunting, monotonous and frustrating at first. There’s a lot of information out there on what to do which can be very overwhelming and actually cause people to not even give it ago. I felt the same for a long time, and it wasn’t until I set myself a goal of picking just one technique and sticking with it for a period of time that I began to truly reap the benefits. I began noticing I was no longer reacting to situations with such hot-headedness and instead taking a moment to reflect and notice what I was really thinking and feeling. From that, my relationships grew stronger, my output at work improved and weirdly I seemed to have more time to do the things I loved - I guess I was spending less time and energy worrying about stuff!
Now I know the incredible impact practising mindfulness can have on your life, I want to share it with you. I don’t want you to feel as overwhelmed and confused as I did at the beginning, however, so I have put together a 5-day Mindfulness challenge to get you started.
Over these 5 days we’ll explore different practices of mindfulness to help you find one that works for you. It doesn’t need to be complicated, all it takes is practice. Simply committing just 5-10 minutes a day, consistently is enough for you to reap the benefits. Training your mind is very similar to training your body - the more you do it and the more consistent you are, the stronger you get.
If you want to feel calmer, increase your self awareness, your attention and your ability to make positive changes in your life then get started today and sign up to the free challenge.
Sign up and get started!
For the next 5 days, you'll receive a new mindfulness practice directly to your inbox!
